"The mustard seed, which indeed is smaller than all seeds but, when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches."
Pilgrimage Retreat in Glendalough:
The Pilgrimage retreat in Glendalough is designed to activate an awareness that God is at the centre of our humanity and experience.
It covers a relatively short circular route which incorporates various stages of reflection, each stage mirroring the progress of the individual through life, and at each point in the journey features at reading to provoke them thinking of their own stages, how it was for them at childhood, how adolescence is, what they expect and hope for the future.
The Retreat will be personal in so far as different stages will speak to different people in different ways and communal in the shared memories, stories and experiences along the way.
The journey culminates in the gathering in the cathedral.
